Yoga Intensive with Sri Arun
October 19-23, 2010

A student of Guruji Sri BKS Iyengar & Sri Prashant Iyengar, Sri Arun has dedicated his life to the propagation of Iyengar Yoga. His continuous research into all aspects of Yoga and its relation to the mental and physical well being of man has helped him to introduce different methods of teaching Asanas. This in turn helps the students to grasp the finer aspects of the postures. His ever-ready humour enlivens the class.

Yoga for Scoliosis & More, Part I
with Theresa Rowland

at Studio Yoga Madison

scoliosisNovember 19-21, 2010
Friday 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Saturday 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Sunday 11:15 am - 2:15 pm

This 10 hour teacher training program will include information on scoliosis, Elise Miller's approach to yoga for scoliosis, and a sequence of beginning and intermediate poses designed to reduce pain and create better postural alignment of the body.
Teachers will have an opportunity to learn and identify the more common patterns of scoliosis for students with scoliosis. Theresa will also demonstrate how to adapt the yoga asanas for scoliosis and how to use props and adjust students with scoliosis. The physical and psychological causes and effects of scoliosis will be presented as well.
Students of all levels are welcome to attend, and teachers attending are encouraged to have their students participate in this workshop. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to apply yoga to a student’s particular scoliosis.
In 2011 Elise Miller will return to Studio Yoga for Part II of the scoliosis program. The workshop will take place May 13-15. After attending Part II, participants have the opportunity to complete a practicum in order to become a “Yoga for Scoliosis Trainer”. Graduates are invited to join Elise’s website of yoga professionals who assist in helping others through her Yoga for Scoliosis training program. The listings on Elise’s website receive unlimited valuable exposure. www.yogaforscoliosis.com
