How to register for classes:
To register for any of these classes you will need to purchase a set of 5, 10, or 25 classes. You can send a check, call the office, or stop by during our office hours. If you are a brand new student to Studio Yoga, you receive a 25% discount on your first set of 5, 10, or 25 classes.

Prices:
A set of 5 classes is $89 and expires in 2 months from the date of purchase
New Student Discount: $67

A set of 10 classes is $172 and expires in 3 months from the date of purchase
New Student Discount $129

A set of 25 classes is $399 and expires in 3 months from the date of purchase

Class Etiquette:

  • During class you may store your belongings in the dressing room. Please remove your shoes before entering the studios.
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows your body to move freely.
  • Arrive for class on time, if not early, so you have time to settle down before class. If you need to leave class early please tell the instructor before the class starts.
  • It is best to practice without jewelry and watches. Also turn off your cell phone and leave it with your other things. Please use unscented cosmetics and body care products and go lightly with perfume and after shave.

What to Bring to Class:
Our studios are fully equipped with yoga props although you are welcome to bring your own props if you prefer. Props are available for purchase through the prop shop or online at www.toolsforyoga.com.

What to do after Yoga Basics:
When you feel ready to move on from Yoga Basics, speak to your teacher and he/she can advise you on which class and level to attend.

Students New to Iyengar Yoga

If you are looking a particular type of yoga, we hope you will keep an open mind. We know we can never replace the experience of your first yoga teacher. The trust and caring developed through that relationship is a matter of the heart. If you have heard or experienced a particular style of yoga and were attracted to specific aspects of that style, you may find that Iyengar Yoga encompasses these aspects. The in-depth nature of our classes will cover a variety of techniques over a period of time: breathing, meditation, practicing with eyes closed, sun salutations, jumping, relaxation, restorative, therapeutics, and all types of poses; standing, forward and backward bending poses, twists, inversions, balancings and floor poses. If you have experience in yoga but have not attended 6 months of Iyengar Yoga classes, it is necessary to attend Yoga Basics, as it will introduce the Iyengar system and the use of props. You are always welcome to attend the Open Yoga classes listed below:

FAQ's

I have several health issues. Can I do yoga?
If you have any conditions or injuries, please ask the office staff for a student information form. Complete the form and return it to the office. We will recommend the best class for your needs.

When can I move from the Yoga Basics classes to the next level?
You can stay in Yoga Basics as long as you like. If, after 6 sessions of the 5 weeks series (30 weeks), you would like to attend a more challenging class, speak to your primary teacher for advice. If you have studied yoga previously, you may be ready to move on after just a couple of series.

For how long are set of 5 non-consecutive classes valid?
Two months.

For how long are set of 10 non-consecutive classes valid?
Three months

When should I start a daily home practice?
As soon as possible. Ask your primary teacher for advice.
