Students New to Iyengar Yoga
If you are looking a particular type of yoga, we hope you will keep an open mind. We know we can never replace the experience of your first yoga teacher. The trust and caring developed through that relationship is a matter of the heart. If you have heard or experienced a particular style of yoga and were attracted to specific aspects of that style, you may find that Iyengar Yoga encompasses these aspects. The in-depth nature of our classes will cover a variety of techniques over a period of time: breathing, meditation, practicing with eyes closed, sun salutations, jumping, relaxation, restorative, therapeutics, and all types of poses; standing, forward and backward bending poses, twists, inversions, balancings and floor poses. If you have experience in yoga but have not attended 6 months of Iyengar Yoga classes, it is necessary to attend Yoga Basics, as it will introduce the Iyengar system and the use of props.
